The Macho Martial Arts Sport Chest Guard was designed by 9x World Champion Christine Bannon-Rodrigues in 2001. This is one of Macho’s most popular chest guards. It is ultra lightweight with excellent mobility. The high, above-the-hip cut reduces shifting when sparring. Ideal for sport karate tournament circuits that require chest protection. This chest protector provides protection and shock-resistance with high-density 1” thermoformed polyethylene. It features open back with elastic crisscross strapping and easy on/easy off over the head wear. The adjustable snap buckle at waist ensures a secure and comfortable fit. Macho listened to the needs of martial artists and created this excellent sport chest guard.

My son had this chest protector when he was first starting to spar, and it worked very well. For whatever reason--and I honestly don't remember why--when he outgrew it we went with another brand. He never did like it as well, and it didn't hold up like his first one. It was just recently time to get a new one, and this is the one he chose. He's the Florida State Champion in Point Fighting in his age group and he will earn his black belt this year, and THIS chest protector is the one he prefers!

I have to send back the first one. The medium was like a child size. Had to get an XL to fit and I am 5'7" 168lbs. It fits good and I think I'll be able to manuever in it well but I haven't been able to use it yet. All indications are that it will work for my needs.
